Join us for our 16th full-day Trombone Workshop at JMU on Saturday, January 31, 2026 from 9:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.. Bring your horn! Trombonists of all ages will enjoy a group warm-up, sight-reading music together, mass trombone choir, workshops and mini-recitals with professionals, including our special guests: SMSgt. Christine Purdue Jones, and Matt Niess and the Capitol Bones. Return at 7 p.m. with your family and friends for the free Grand Concert in the Forbes Concert Hall. Participants of the workshop will perform in the mass trombone choir finale of the Grand Concert!
NOTE: Jan 13: The T-shirt order has been placed and we have almost sold out of shirts, so we’re moving to a $25 Workshop Only ticket. If there are unsold shirts at the event, you can check this sales table to purchase one. Meals are not included. We recommend bringing a bag lunch for the lunch break and then heading out for dinner in downtown Harrisonburg between 4:30-6:30 p.m. Vending machines for drinks and minimal snacks (chips and candy bars) are available in the Forbes Center near our Workshop room.
