Tromblow’in 2017 is scheduled for Saturday, January 21, 2017 at JMU’s Forbes Center for the Performing Arts. This year, we’re excited to welcome back some old friends as well as some brand new clinicians and guests artists, including: Michael Davis, New York-based trombonist, band leader and music educator; and Reginald Chapman, Richmond0-based freelance bass trombonist and member of NoBS Brass (among others). Moving back up a week in mid-January, we’re excited to see some new trombonists who may not have conflicts with regional band as in year’s past. So please, spread the word!
This year we’re continuing to offer extra “face time” for you and your horn. Come early (10 a.m.) for a pre-session warm up and sight reading session, or take as much time as you like to test new horns and browse the sheet music before the Afternoon Session starts with the Mass Trombone Choir rehearsal (12:30 p.m.). The afternoon promises some great workshops, talks, and a few recitals, too. We’re giving everyone a T-shirt (included with registration, see design below) and we’re back again with the special raffle of a new pBone, with proceeds to help fund next year’s guest artists.
- 2017 Registration (incl. T-shirt) is just $28 (taxes included).
Dinner is on your own from 4:45 – 6:45 p.m. (some great campus dining choices or some close-by local eateries) and the Grand Concert ends the day’s festivities beginning at 7 p.m.
This year we have a new commemorative Tromblow’in T-Shirt, and everyone gets one! Pre-order your size when you register to make sure we have one for you at check-in.
Don’t wait: register now and we’ll see you on Saturday, January 21 at JMU!
